The number on the home page answers one question: is tonight's sunset worth going out for. The scale is honest, we hand out tens very rarely.

Sometimes a range sits next to the number, like "somewhere between 3 and 6". It means the weather forecasts disagree and the evening can go either way. No range means they agree, and you can lean on the number more.

At the spot and the sky is lighting up? Tap the button, and everyone who loves this spot will know right away: tonight it is really worth coming. It is a small good deed: today you tip off others, tomorrow someone tips you off.

Caught something beautiful? Share it! Upload the photo on the spot's page: it goes into the place's gallery and the day's history. At the end of each week we put together a ranking of the best sunsets, and soon we will start rewarding the best shots and featuring their authors. Together we will build a gallery of unreal beauty.

Got places you keep coming back to? Tap the heart on the spot. Your favourite places move to the top of the list, and when the sky lights up there you will be the first to know: a "Sunset started" alert arrives as soon as someone taps the button at the spot.

Turn on notifications and we will tell you when it is worth going out:

• An hour before sunset, if the score is 6 or higher.
• Right away, when someone at your favourite spot taps "Sunset started".
• And on Mondays, the best sunsets of the week, so you can see what you missed.

We send nothing else, only beautiful skies.

The forecast and the map are open to everyone, no sign-up needed. Signing in with Google makes you part of the community: favourite spots, your photos in the gallery, alerts about beautiful skies and suggestions for new places. One button, and everything of yours is always at hand.

Know a place where the sunset is especially beautiful and we do not have it yet? Share it! Send a request: the name, a photo, a map link and a few words. We will check that the place exists and the sunset is really visible from there, and add it to the map. Let everyone discover your favourite place.
